I'm not sure I felt 'fresh' exactly, but I did feel fine when I got back apart from the saddle being a little uncomfortable. I know the saddle will mould after a few hundred miles, the older flyer is just getting there now with a couple of nicely placed 'dimples' appearing. I didn't expect to ever end up with 2 Brooks saddles to break in though.

Put a little bit of one of my son's old mountain bike inner tube wrapped with tape around the contact points for the ortlieb rear panniers as I don't want the racks getting too marked yet. I do like the idea I have seen on here with the tubing, so that you can get rid of the little clips on the panniers. At the moment they are still on mine, but it is a tighter fit now, so less rattling around.

I also put a thin ring of inner tube around the Cateye rear light after I read on here about the battery cover coming loose. Seemed to work a treat. I tapered it very slightly for it to fit in between the two buttons.
