What do you want this Christmas?
« on: December 23, 2013, 06:09:19 PM »
My bike is perfect, except that I want a new seat post to match the Brooks twin rail-adaptor Julian kindly gave me to fix a crude Brooks house-brand fitting that keeps going out of adjustment. But I haven't decided which seat post I want yet. The lugged Nitto Julian has looks good but I can't afford the 45mm setback, in fact I want some set-forward if at all possible.

Here's a tip if your family hasn't yet got the message. Run your preferred bicycle components catalogue on the television as a screensaver when the family is not watching anything in particular. One good way to do this is to run the YouTube version on your smartphone or tablet, then connect the smartphone to the television with an HDMI cable, then you just select the correct input and let it run. (iPhone and iPad put the vid onscreen without any further input from you.) This method of managing your family's desire to buy you expensive bicycle components is a rough version of subliminal suggestion.

I want my 36T Hebie Chainglider. Oh! And a Trelock ring-lock wide enough to fit my Nomad's  large/wide seatstays. The kind that retains its key while riding. The 450 looks as if it would do nicely, but seems t be an OEM-only offering at present.

Best,

If you find a reindeer trying to kiss you, it's because it was exposed together with Santa, and the psych worked better on the reindeer than on Santa. Heh-heh.

Andre, if I could get Hebie to make a 36t Chainglider, I'd happily kiss a reindeer!

All the best,

Dan. (...who reminds Andre that with great power comes great responsibility)

Pete!

I don't think there's better than that!

I hope you get your heart's desire and then some. Given your experience in Africa, you've already got it! Now, for it to continue...

All the best,

Dan.

I want to sort my life out enough for me to be able to get away for a long long tour.

As much as I try, life, work and new grandchildren keep getting in the way!

At 60 time is running out. I should have been doing the tour years ago. Never mind. Don't look back, sang Bob and he ain't wrong too often.

I am torn between wanting to do the tour and...........
other stuff.

Anyone else found themselves in this situation?
If so, please advise ASAP!

Many thanks folks and seasons best wishes to you all.

Matt

All I want is my broadband to be working, packed up this morning and next available slot for an engineer is next Monday. 3G phone to the rescue!

I'd also like my next day delivery from Wiggle containing my 2 new Marathon Supremes, that was supposedly delivered to me this morning, to make its whereabouts known...'cos I ain't got them!

Rant over.

Merry Xmas everyone.
