Hi Pete!
My, I'm surely glad you brought your camera with you so we could "join" you in such a lovely Spring day! Those are gorgeous scenes, and Amref is looking handsome as usual. You've all your bottles with you, but I think I see something new in the middle of the top tube. Perhaps a protective wrap against the 'bars striking in a fall?
This may be a bit of an odd question, but...
Is the air fragrant with Spring? I've often found Spring smells different depending on my cycling locale. Here in Oregon's Willamette Valley, the air smells of freshly tilled soil, farmland, and river-bottom (loam). In Eastern Oregon, the bloom is often on the sage, and the air is filled with the scent of it all. In the forests, the overwhelming odor is of pine and fir, and on the coast there is the tang of sea air. I used to fly to San Diego in Southern California every 4-6 weeks for awhile, and was always struck by the spicy smell of flowers when I stepped off the plane, as if I had just landed in Hawaii or something. The climate there is always mild like Springtime (23C or so), and it really encourages the flowers to bloom. The have a lot of eucalyptus trees, too.
So...what does it smell like in your photos?
Another great job, as usual. Thanks for sharing, Pete!
Best,
Dan.
