Fitting a Bor Yeuh Front Low Rider Rack
« on: May 16, 2026, 04:32:41 PM »
Would anyone have a photo they could post of their rack fitted in close up please?

I'm trying to fit one to an early Club Tour and not doing a very good job of it!

The front of the rack appears to be quite a lot wider that the rear (of the front of the rack), the un horizontalness I can live with!  Thanks

Photos here... no idea how to post them to the forum direct, much too complicated

On this forum, photos are supposed to be less than a half meg in memory size.  Too big and it will not let you post them.  I usually use a 16 megapixel camera, I find that if I photo reduce a photo at 20 percent, it easily loads onto the website.

That rack looks a lot like a copy of the early Blackburn racks from years ago.  I think you just have to live with the forward part being spaced out further than the rear.  I would hesitate to try to bend that front arch so that it holds the front sides closer together, as I have no clue if that aluminum alloy is hard enough to be weakened by bending it or not.

I would not space the rear out that far as you have in the photos.  If you used spacers or extra nuts on the bolts to space it out that far, you risk bending the bolts if you have a pair of heavy panniers and hit a big bump.

That said, if your panniers were quite light in weight, then having the rear spaced out that far might not be a problem.

It's not too clear from your photographs but it looks as though the hoop is secured with P clips, and it may be wrongly assembled.

Is it possible to completely removed the hoop and swap the two pannier supports left to right. You should then be able to refit the hoop on the outside of the pannier supports.

Hi Adrian,
Interesting that you say on your link that you have converted the bike from 26” to 700c rims.
What are your thoughts about this change?
What 700c tyre size are you using?
