On this forum, photos are supposed to be less than a half meg in memory size. Too big and it will not let you post them. I usually use a 16 megapixel camera, I find that if I photo reduce a photo at 20 percent, it easily loads onto the website.
That rack looks a lot like a copy of the early Blackburn racks from years ago. I think you just have to live with the forward part being spaced out further than the rear. I would hesitate to try to bend that front arch so that it holds the front sides closer together, as I have no clue if that aluminum alloy is hard enough to be weakened by bending it or not.
I would not space the rear out that far as you have in the photos. If you used spacers or extra nuts on the bolts to space it out that far, you risk bending the bolts if you have a pair of heavy panniers and hit a big bump.
That said, if your panniers were quite light in weight, then having the rear spaced out that far might not be a problem.
