Choosing tyres can be a minefield, not least because quoted size dosen't always match actual size.
My question is where does this leave us with us when choosing inner tubes? Do we need to know actual tyre size to correctly choose appropriate inner tubes? How wide is the tolerance of inner tubes out side the quoted size range?
Example: If a tyre is stated as 32mm, but actually measures no more then 30mm, then is an inner tube sized at 32-37mm (say) ok to use or not? What about a tube sized at 23-28mm??
I've deliberately not quoted specific makes or models here as I'm more interested in a generalised discussion but if specific examples stand out that's interesting also.
Does any of this have a bearing on long term durability of specific combinations?
Or am I just being paranoid/ott about the whole issue??
