Keeping feet dry

I can't be the only peson with this problem . . .

I normally ride in cold wet weather with tights and use toeclips, not SPDs making overshoes difficult, I think  - so the water runs down my legs straight into my shoes . . .

Is this something that just has to be put up with??  Or does anyone have any bright ideas??

First thing to try is to extend your front mudguard flap. (And if you don't have a mudguard etc...) There are plans on the web.

Nice mudflap stutho and in St George colours as well.

I use SPD shoes and overshoes. Can you not get a larger size overshoe than you'd normally take ? You need something that forms a seal round your ankles or water will find a way in.

When I used Toe straps and clips I found a pair of AGU Sport gaiters were quite useful. They can be found on Ebay!

Thanks, Froggy - I have seen these in outdoor pursuit shops and wondered about them . . . I can feel another visit coming on.  

I have been out on the bike today, and the main problem has not been cold or wet, but wind - terrible gales swirling round buildings . .  I got off and walked in the end, the first time I have had to do that for ages.
