Thieves! Scoundrels!

I hate these stories. Why can't people keep their cotton-picking hands off other people's stuff? Bikes are especially personal - I've lost a few over the years, and then there was my custom Harley Davidson which broke my heart. The frame was eventually found at the bottom of a lake in Texas.

It's probably been taken for a quick few quid, and it's the dicks (sorry... unsophisticated buyers  :() that make it possible. Knaves!

I hope you get it back quickly Simon, and in unmarked condition.

Sam

Nope. It was re birthed.  >:( It was a gorgeous Fat Bob Superglide which I'd owned from new (1982) and customized. I rode it from Salt Lake City to Dallas while I was working down there, and it was pinched one night from the garage. I was devastated. It was a unique machine, and I felt like some bastard had stolen my girlfriend!  :'(

Got a payout that was too low for a new bike, so I bought a second hand Low Rider and customized again. Eventually brought that bike to Australia and sold it eight years later. I'll try to find a photo to post (it was pre-digital).

Harleys are hard to keep. They're thief magnets cuz the patch clubs love them. Useless scum!

oh man what a disaster i could get over the theft of my car but not a harley or my bike .
sam there's a big road race not far from me 15 miles or so on the coast road Skerries north co dublin  thousants of bikers attend to see  the race ,anyway last year i think it was a  clever guy  appears in a hugh truck with a sigh on the side saying secure parking in my truck 5 euro for the day, when he got it full he disappeared there were some very expensive motor bikes in that truck never to be seen again.

...when he got it full he disappeared there were some very expensive motor bikes in that truck never to be seen again.

I've seen something like that here, too. The Ulysses Club (older bikers, lots of expensive machines) have an AGM in a different town in Oz each year. A few years ago, they got about 4,500 to come to Coffs Harbour north of here. A gang moved into town the week before with a semi, and went about methodically pinching expensive bikes. They lit out after a couple of days, but were caught up in Queensland.

Your story makes me wonder, tho... How could you possibly get away with something like that in such a tiny country? I suppose that they were on a ferry to Europe before anyone realized?

Grubs!
