I don't believe it!     >:(

Why couldn't this bike have come up 3 weeks ago. It's gorgeous, it would have fit and I would have bought it like a shot at that price. Why does it always have to be that way, you wait and wait for the ideal bike, then give up and order new and hey presto the ideal bike appears. I could have had this bike and my summer trip paid for with the money I would have saved.

Surely this has Jawine's name on it though with a nice short top tube.

Aw, Jackie!

What sad luck!

All sympathy and empathy your way. Somehow, this is how the Universe achieves its balance, though don't ask me how. It has happened to me as well.

Well, the good news is you'll be starting new with yours and you'll have benefit of a warranty, slim though the need for it might be; Thorn make great bikes that rarely require a claim.

Have you chosen a name for yours yet? It can sometimes take awhile, so it is not too early to start thinking of one. "Sherpa" was easy, but I've never felt right about something so generic as "The Nomad" for my beloved expedition bike. The answer came to me in a flash this morning. To see what it is, go to: http://www.thorncycles.co.uk/forums/index.php?topic=4523.msg62353#msg62353

All the best,

Dan.

Hi Dan,

Have been thinking hard about a name, but haven't completed decided yet. I am hoping one will come to me once I start riding it. I would like to have a name rather than just call it "The Sherpa"

I saw your thread showing how you have finally named the Nomad. Seymour is a great idea for an expedition bike.

Only one more sleep to go now.   ;D  I will be down at SJS around 9am tomorrow morning.

Jackie

At last -- nearly! You must feel like a kid on the night before Christmas. We've all been there. Sleeping will help the time pass faster!

No worries, Jackie; a name will come in time as you grow used to one another. It can take awhile. It took me 20 months. After 30 years together, the blue rando bike is still The Blue Bike, sadly.

May time pass quickly for you. Here, it is only a bit after 13:00 on Tuesday, so you're already ahead!  :D

All the best,

Dan.

If the e-bay seller had measured mine properly I never would have bought it...now I won't part with it. This happened to me with some track frames, always the way but you find out that once you have your bike you lose the grumps as...you have a bike! :)

Pedal to the metal! Wind, rain, hills, braking power permitting ;)
