I must confess after one year of ownership my RST with Shimano Alfine 8 owes me nothing, having performed very well with minimal care and attention. It does live in a shed and only cycles fair weather but still racks up a decent amount of commuter miles.
I do sort of clean the chain and re lube every two or three weeks, and just changed the rear tyre - that's it by way of maintenance.
There may already be a thread on annual maintenance but just wanted to check what would be on the list for a typical annual, or every eighteen months, service?
I'll get my LBS to do a service this summer but also believe in leaving well alone.
My list might include
Re grease the gear hub
Check brake pads and wheels running true
Adjust brake cables
Clean chain, sprockets
Chain tension
Are there any other service/grease/lube points? I think that the revolving bits are all cassettes these days, but may be wrong!
