Cheers Jim appreciate it,not as hard as your day on the bike jim but still a lot of climbing done.
 warm east wind so in me face all the way home ,still not complaining great to get the miles in all 33 of them thats my 3rd day on the trot hopefully i'll get another few miles tomorrow.

Alfie got a great 50 miles in today not home long, i'm feckin knackered.  the spin was mega tough lot's and lots of steep hills but i got over them no bother,near the end of the spin my feet were so sore i had to stop for 20 minutes its mainly the balls of my feet and toes man the pain is unreal but just got to battle on what else can i do.

i have more photos on face book i'll ask jim or andre to post them up ..

Thanks a million jim,yeah it wes a super day on the bike i think i over did it with the route way to many  climbs i suffered like a dog last night 

but  it was worth all the pain. i know all the back roads and lanes in my county, traffic was mental as you can see from the pics 

aw its great to get out when the sun is on your back yeah a super days cycling for sure....anto.

Wow what great cycling country Jags, perfect mixture of hills and flats.
The Audax is looking good, I knew it was the bike for you. I am hoping to get an Audax next year, how do you find it for climbing? Not sure whether to go for compact or triple chainset, how do you like your triple?

Hi Neil yes great cycling country 
i would go for a triple i was glad of the granny ring yesterday let me tell you.
the bike is great for climbing no problem at all.mind you i have a nice set of lightish wheels on it open pro and 105 hubs, and good tyres 90psi which all helps.

Cheers Jags, I was leaning towards a triple, being only 9 and a half stone I'm pretty good on the hills, it's the flats that I struggle due to lack of power in my legs.
I've provisionally bought a Raven Tour to go with my RST so an Audax would complete my dream bike stable nicely.

another 50 mile spin today  this time with the local club great craic.when we stopped for coffee another cyclist asked who owned the Thorn he was mightly impressed
no idea who he was but he seemed to know a bit about thorn bikes.

Cheers Jim yeah only 25 miles but windy and hilly ride,i think the weather is starting to close in a bit it was a bit nippy yesterday .

well just getting he gear on for the usual sat morn spin with the drogheda wheelers leisure group usually around 60 miles. weather is windy dull and rain on the way just your usual irish day.

we got 60 miles in this morn took a few pics hopfully jim will post them here.
it was a very windy spin but great on the way home even stopped for coffee.
the fast lads split the group half way so i took the girls home a different route we had a great craic on the way home.

Bring back Global Warming! I can count the number of days I was in shirtsleeves this "summer" on the fingers of one hand. Today I had to stop to put on a jacket only half a mile from home. That's not acceptable for August (Down Under can read the calendar upside down).

Our line on climate change, Andre, is that we're agin global warming, but some local warming would be nice.  Visited my friends in the Madawaska Highlands on Thursday, and it was 8 degrees on Friday morning! Swamped with domestic chores to do before I leave for Berlin next Wed., for a week of cycling in Denmark with my daughter, & then 2 weeks in Sweden by myself; so, this week pastvI didn't make my annual tough 4-day ride through the hills NW of Ottawa. Bailed out & instead took the Subaru for an overnight of good food and talk. Happened that this week we've had bizarrely wet weather, 4 days rain out of 5, and 50 mm on what would've been the 2nd day of my ride. On a training ride ten days ago, two-plus hours of the three were in drenching rain ... But it'll be mild & sunny in Denmark & Sweden, I'm sure.
