Sprocket wear is very dependent on location. I'd say you should get 15k km in say Africa and maybe 25k km if riding mainly on Tarmac. Dust and sand are the problem.  See blogs and posts by takeonafrica for some first hand experience. Larger sprockets should last slightly longer than smaller ones, everything else been equal.

I googled "worn rohloff sprocket" and you see a few, some with mileages, but you also see great variation in what constitutes worn  :o

As for 300g, will it be 300g in the form of what you actually need or just the straw that broke the camels back?  For an extreme but intelligent take on this look at http://ultralightcycling.blogspot.co.uk/  Igor took this route originally to reduce equipment breakages.....

For shipping to out of the way places in emergency I would: go to airport, port or major town and find out which carrier has an office there. Pay what they charge for quick delivery addressed to the office and avoid the hassle and backsheesh that comes in the "final mile" to your temporary accomodation..... 

Before you go help Robin pay his wages bill. Establish a rapport with some people at Thorn so you have some goodwill to trade on when you need a little extra special help  ;)

Pete, did you not have some tweezers in the first aid kit????

Mickeg, beware the Marathon Extreme. I have some and they are essentially a Marathon Supreme type lightweight (thin sidewall) carcass with a heavy draggy tread. Worst of both worlds to some folk and they don't make them no more :P

Ian where were you when I needed to no that  :o  !

I think Tweezers would not have worked as the Valves where fitted by an Ape! and NOTE: I was the 3rd driver (the Boy) so when they said jump I said how high! they were Cowboys and I was all about drinking and pay!
I moved on to working for good Tour Companies  8)

The most important spare part you can carry: the goodwill of addressing by name the person whose help you need urgently.

 Judicious adaptation NOT bodging  ;D

You'd need to clamp the tweezers with an adjustable wrench or maybe Molegrips (gently wielded) to get enough rigidity.....

My current KMC x1 is up to 7000 km and should be good for another 3. We have just come through Europe and next month start heading off to through the Middle East. We have been carrying one spare tyre a Marathon Extreme but I am buying a spare Mondial plus a couple of sprockets and 2 chains.
If you put a new chain on a worn Rohloff sprocket it makes an awful noise, I made the mistake on an extended tour on our tandem once. Hence I look after my chain and plan to turn the sprocket round at 10,000k and fit new chains. I carry spare links but have never had a KMC x1 break on me.
The Mondials are still looking like new so should be good for 15-20k. As for postage it depends where you are, I think I might struggle in Iran and Turkmenistan.
