Has anybody ridden any serious off road or a Polaris event on a Tandem ? If so how was it ?

I haven't personally, but I do remember a cycling plus or perhaps MBUK article back in the mists of time where someone did. They didn't seem to have any problems; the only issues comparedd with a single are ground clearance, going over terrain which requires lifting wheels or hopping.

For most polaris type events I imagine you could do reasonably well be selecting a moorland type event and prioritising checkpoints in open country.

Hi

Yes we ride a Tandem fairly seriously offroad - as do many others.  There is an offroad tandem forum - double forte.  Mainly USA based but some Europeans

We regularly ride around the highlands - from a 5 day offroad tour with camping kit to riding the purpose built trail parks.
Our Bike.  It sits much higher than a road tandem - 16.5 inch front BB height!  DH wheels
