Max weight - Audax mk3
« on: June 19, 2013, 08:53:03 AM »
Does anyone know the maximum capacity of an Audax mk3? Not just the maximum load as I can find that on the PDF but the total maximum weight the frame will carry (with the carbon forks if that makes a difference). I'm currently 97kg so need to know how much room I have for stuff in panniers... ta!

Not toured on this bike yet, so this is going to be a first attempt. Saying that is only going for 3 days and I'm B&Bing it for both nights so its only going to be a change of cycling clothes, an off bike change of clothes and shoes, waterproofs, bathroom stuff, tools and things, and electronic equipment (SLR camera and tablet). Im not expecting a massive weight.

Word from on high (Andy) is that I should be ok on a short tour if I carry everything in a large saddle bag + small bar bag. So thats the plan now if I can get hold of one. I have panniers already though and I think my wife may have a dim view on me spending more money on luggage....

you can pick up a nice carradice barley perfect for what you want it for on carradice seconds rack. one of the lads here Ian was at the factory a short while ago he might be able to put you right.best of luck with the new baby.
