Very thoughtful of you, Ian. Man, that is a beauty of a bike, and looks awfully close to new in the photos -- in all the ways that count, anyway.  It'd be nice if it found a home with someone here so we could hear more about it as time goes by.

Best,

Dan.

Nice looking bike
38t front ring
Did I miss what size the rear ring is?

Sold for a very healthy £1,561.11. Personally, for a bike that old regardless of provenance, that is a lot of folding money I think but hey! the market finds its level. That said how does one put a price on the pleasure of riding a lovely steed like that!

It appears to be back up on the market:

Unless there was two of them?

Thats a surprise! I had visions of the new owner riding around the Western Isles already. Probably a size issue has seen its unexpected return to this parish. Lovely bike undoubtedly and with apparently such little use too. I'll be getting my tape measure out just to convince myself yet again that it is too small for me.  :)

I had one of those, a Rohloff eXp 560L with S&S couplings, lovely bike, sadly stolen from Stonehaven campsite in 2010.

The rear cog is most likely a 16 as SJS were fitting 38x16 then unless you wanted something else.

I would be bidding for it except I now have an ex display Rohloff eXp R model, can't justify a spare Thorn Rohloff tourer!

I was just over 5' 11" when I got mine and it was a good fit for a relaxed stance for me.
I have a longer body and shorter legs for my height, inside leg 31" for trousers.

If you fancy an expedition tourer go for it!
