That 505L Audax MK1 has been looking at me the past months going...buy me...buuuuuuuy me.....BUY ME...BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUY ME...
It's lovely :)

I got an XTC from the same framebuilders that did batch work for thorn, it's a lovely comfy bike. Also, £999 for Shimano 105? I think this bike can make somebody very happy, you pay that for a new Audax these days from Spa Cycles and other places, but that is a made in China job. This one is hand made and fillet brazed in England.

Pedal to the metal! Wind, rain, hills, braking power permitting ;)

:D What's really amazing, Jawine, is how one can "bond" with something like that from afar; when they go, it almost feels like someone bought "your" bike! Been there many a time myself, so tea and sympathy for your loss.

All the best,

Dan. (...who thinks the desktop wallpaper "should" be enough to make it "mine, all mine!")

Assuming your taking about LA, they used to help with some high volume models when we were busy, all the 853's were made here by Kevin.

Hi Dave,

If I give you the serial of my XTC can you identify it?

It *looks* like an 853 one but as it was bought on e-bay with no history, I am not a 100% sure.
Decals on it are gone too.

It is a normal one though, not a SWB. Judging ads in Cycle Magazine from 2004 it's probably a batch one. LA cycles still going! I have seen them do fixies for a London brand.

(either way it's a lovely bike and great job)

LA ones will have LA at the end or start of the serial, others will have the initials of the frame builder here that built them, usualy FC, PR, KS, JS, GT or EW.

Thanks! That helps :)

Is there any way to track the year?

I measure the tubing it has the same size as the 2003 model in the brochure, but again it's a guess.
