I think it seems a bit confusing because Picture Three is tilted to the left a bit, making it seem unfamiliar. Bill's RT has the standard Rohloff routing from above, using the cable stop mounted to the left-rear canti boss with detachable q/r cables feeding into the hub from above, so no, no EX box.
(Bill, an "EX Box" refers to an alternative routing for the Rohloff shifter cables and an "External" means to shift the hub. On Thorns, this means they come in from beneath the left chainstay and enter a small, black box that attaches to the left side of the hub. This controls internal shift mechanism of the hub. Yours comes in from above, and uses two cables, each with a means for quickly releasing them to allow dropping the wheel for service/flat repair, etc).
