Well, since I am going to have a moan we may as well turn it into a general moaning thread
You know that when it rains you can't see the potholes well...so an innocuous looking puddle can turn into a BIG surprise.
Commuting this morning I got caught out. Of course the potholes are always on the cycle lane bit of the road as they gather near the kerb!
A beautiful total expletive of a pothole lay hidden under a puddle. But instead of being a nice round edged one (nasty, but not too bad on the wheels) this one felt like it jumped down 3 inches straight down, and then 3 inches straight up.
Now my back brake makes a sound when I brake that changes with the frequency of wheel rotation, eg slow when slow speed brake,high when high speed braking. So the back rim probably went out of true. (SUN CR18 on Thorn XTC unladen with Sportcontact slicks) thought I can't clearly see it.
GRRRRRRR
And 2 punctures in 4 days this week one of those weeks
