Thorn Nomad for sale
« on: October 30, 2012, 10:23:39 am »
I'm selling my Nomad as I don't get to use it as much as I thought I would, Reynolds 531 frame, 52cm, Full XT Groupset, Sun Rim Rhino Rims on XT Hubs, Schwalbe marathon Tyres, Avid Shorty 6 Brakes, Fully Serviced, Front and rear Panniers, looking for serious offers as these are quite hard to get hold of.
PM me if your interested.

Welcome to the Forum, Frank!

Lovely bike, there. Looks very well cared-for.

I hope selling this bike won't mean you're leaving Thorns behind; we'd like to see you stay around, though actually owning a Thorn isn't a requirement for membership!

I see yours is equipped with the Thorn Mid-Loader front pannier racks. Please, could you tell me how you like them, and how they worked in practice? I recall Andy Blance saying in an old brochure how they contributed to less "steering flop" (locating the load nearer the steering axis) and provided a bit more curb clearance (higher mounting than the later Low-Loader MkVs).

Best,

Dan. (...burning with curiosity, and glad I'm not a cat)
