Stored hydro is of course a key technology. We just aim to complement it. One advantage to putting storage out at a substation is that it can relieve stress on the transmission network. The whole deregulation thing complicates things too... somehow spot market prices go all over the place, despite the existence of stored hydro in the system.

I suppose other advantages of the system is its capability of being local therefore reducing transmission losses of stored energy and also possibly? supplying backup power in instances of inturruption of the main supply. I personaly like the idea of winding up big rubberbands on wind turbines for stored power but maybe that is just me.....
