Mercury
« on: September 16, 2012, 01:41:50 PM »
Hi!

In june I got my new Mercury. Since then I have done 2400km. I have spent 3 weeks in the swedish westcoast and the western and southern part of Norway. So far I'm very pleased with my bike. Very well balanced, it was a delight in the downhill parts. The only thing I will change is the chainring. I needed lower gears in the steep hills. The chanring is now 43/17 and I think 39/17 will be a better choice.

Hi Lars
welcome aboard the forum and thanks for posting. We haven't seen many Mercury bikes yet. Do you have any more pictures or spec details for your bike?
Best wishes
Ian

Welcome to the Forum, Lava!

My, what a stunning bike, and so very nice to see a Mercury on the Forum -- even better to see yours both loaded and unloaded.

What a beauty!

You do realize...we're all looking at jags' new bicycle here. Just swap the Raleigh and Sherpa for it and you're off, jags!  It'll take drops as well.

Looking forward to seeing more photos of your terrific new steed in the gallery, Lava, and any trip photos you might wish to include as well. Can you tell us about how much weight you're carrying in the first photo?

Best,

Dan.

Hi!
Thanks for your nice comments. Yes it's 700c wheels, tyres are 35c Schwalbe Supreme. Luggage weight between 25-27 kg.
Rear disc brakes Avid bb7 and front Shimano xtr V-brakes. Brooks Swallow saddle.
Some photos from trip will posted later.

Lars

Great bike. You look to have quite a load, any idea of the weight? I like the concept but it's about 30% over my budget!

Amazing bike. I've been thinking of buying one for some time. Love the finish on your machine. Thanks for posting the pictures.
