Rohloff not fitted to a Thorn
« on: March 01, 2012, 12:14:55 PM »
I am always intruiged by non Rohloff specific frames and the fitment standards that some shops have.  This is a very lovely Orange P7 few years old with decent avid hydraulic brakes and an ok front fork, Hope H' set, the Rohloff is an EX box.  Customer uses it regularly and looks after it well, its just had an oil change, hydraulic flush and brake clean up, as well as h'set and front hub check over.  Look at the rear adjuster position though in photo 2, obviously the changer cable is not in the ex box at equal lengths - 20mm.  Will sort out at next service with a cable replacement, customer is ok living with it for now. Also the torque arm anchor plate fixing onto the chain stay with hose clips that are sharp; on an MTB ???

Neat to see the stuff you encounter in your shop, Dave, and all compliments your way for your usual high standards and thoroughness!

The flaws you spotted would sadly be considered repairs to a high standard by shops here'bouts...

Best,

Dan.
