Any one bought any components from Rose Bikes in Germany ?
« on: January 16, 2012, 10:21:29 AM »
Looking at the web site some bike components appear cheaper than UK suppliers.
Has any one bought components and what are the UK import costs incurred etc ?
Thanks

Not from Rose Bikes , but from Bike24 who have good prices and remarkably low delivery costs to the UK.
There appear to be no customs duties shopping within the EU.
The Euro at around 1.20 to the pound helps as well!

I've not used them but have used Bike 24 and Star Bikes mainly for buying German lighting components which are far cheaper than any UK price. Looking at the Rose Bike web site I would not hesitate in buying from them either. Long established company with some good prices.

Prices are inclusive of VAT and there are no import duties to pay when buying from any company with the EU.

Yes, I have bought from them many times.
The P&P to the UK is around £6, and they use DHL (fast) .
There are no import charges as we are in the EU ( both UK and Germany).
Their website can be switched to British Pound: you order and pay in British Pounds.

Rose is one of the big names catering for cyclist both online and with a brick & mortar store.
They are very good in logistics and are known to be fair when you have to send stuff back.
In Germany you can send the goods back for 14 days after arrival and get a full refund.
Maybe there is some more information in the english section of the german bicycle travel forum.

In short: If the price is right, buy it.
