How much would it cost me to get a website and what do I get for the money?
(I am a computer Klutz!)

I am not the person to ask.  I have a Geocities account which I have had for about 8 years or so.  I am sure there are other options out there these days.  What I know about web stuff could be written on the back of a postage stamp, with room for my name address and personal bio.

Try doing a websearch on google ... http://www.google.co.nz/search?hl=en&ie=UTF-8&q=free+websites&btnG=Google+Search&meta= and take your pick ...

some offer lots of free stuff, others have a few hooks like only loading one file at a time or huge banners and advertising. Most ahve page templates or html editors as well ...

then go and get a free url redirecting http://www.google.co.nz/search?hl=en&ie=UTF-8&q=url+redirect&btnG=Search&meta= ... this will allow you to shorten the name or to have a really cool name ... I also have http://cycletouring.iscool.net

otherwise send me an email and I can send you a few pointers ...

cheers,

my website costs me NZD$1 a week for 20MB and I use an older version of MS front page which I picked up really cheaply ...
I think USA and Britain have even cheaper deals for webspace ...

most web authoring magazines have free versions of html editing programs that are easy to use ...

my webname www.hoogie.co.nz costs me NZD$35 a year to register.

all up, it is quite cheap ... all I need now is the time to work on it ...

Either there has been a catastrophe at SJSC or the camera has keeled over in the IT department.
