Now that's what I call a touring bike! Love it :-*

By the way, is that the standard pump peg position on the Sherpas?

Hello,
I like it too! But then again I would like it. Its the same as mine.
John.

thank's spoonboy for that,so im a stone heaver than your bike, emm i dont really  want to buy front rack and panniers (money really tight at moment),but i can see if i did ,the bike should ride a lot lighter ,if that makes sense.im carrying everything in the rear, and my panniers are stuffed (ortlieb bikepacker plus) what to do what to do.have you tryed you bike yet fully loaded.
did you sell your front rack yet ?

Hi Jags

Not replaced the front racks yet but pennies have been put aside so get a surly nice rack

The only reason I got 4 bags and a bar bag was purely a better weight distribution and load spread

Although heavy to lift fully loaded it feels far better.

I found for me, heavy stuff in the rear and lightweight stuff in the front

spoonboy did you try your bike fullyloaded yet,im just curious about the front rack and how it handles the load.and why you think the surly rack would be better.

Hi Jags

Fully loaded you noticed the difference..well you would  :)

I found placing lightweight stuff on the fronts...clothing etc meant the bike was more balanced without making steering to heavy or awkward

The surly is not a low rider and also has a flat panel on top to spread the load more evenly

I have no doubt the Thorn expeditions will do they job

But having the ortliebs higher and with an additional flat load place that the surly has I just feel for big luggage over a long time this gives a better option

thanks spoonboy emm most people prefair low riders but each to there own i suppose.must have a look at that surly rack ,makes sense to be able to put stuff on top of the rack as well , make the rack more stable i would think.
anyway when's the off hope you have a ball, there's a lot of snow about at the moment ,so dont go taking that sherpa out.

I just ordered a black Sherpa, to replace my Nomad, and after seeing your red one, I think I picked the wrong color.  That is a very sharp looking bike.
