STOLEN IN EDINBURGH 22/04/08 - RAVEN ENDURO
« on: April 22, 2008, 08:00:42 pm »
My pride and joy  - the Pearl Blue/Flo green 2005 Raven Enduro - yes, the ex-demo model on the website and brochures - was stolen today from a parking garage in central Edinburgh some time before 5 PM.

It is the 534S XL size, has the disc version Rohloff with external change box, Fox Vanilla RLC fork, Hope Mini hydraulic disc brakes and a Thudbuster LT seatpost.

Headset, wheels and seatpost are secured with Pitlock skewers and nuts so it will be a hacksaw job to strip it for parts.

If anyone  (especially in the Edinburgh area) hears of a bike or components like this  being offered for a quick sale, please contact me  by reply to this or to my mobile tel: 07754 761451, or better still, the Edinburgh Police.

... very sorry to hear of your loss!! Was your Enduro insured?
Here in Canada it is common now to apply hidden chips
inside of the bike tubing ... so, police can track both your bike
(and those who dared to take it) with help of sattelite!

Hope you will get it back.
Sad, really!

Jan, can you tell us more about the chips? How much do they cost? Where can we get them? And what equipment do we need to track the bike? Sounds like a great idea, but I suspect for it to work the police will have to buy special equipment.
