new chainset advice

what chainset would you guys recommend for my new sherpa.
as you proberly know the frame comes with square taper bottom bracket
i read bad things on the xt hollow teck chainset, i was going to get that ,so im back to square one,
i dont mind changing the bottom bracket to a splined one to suit a good chainset,but only if there is no recommen dation on square taper chainsets. im going to go with xt derailers 9 speed.

If you are going to remove the fitted bottom bracket watch out!!!!! I tried to remove the one from my sherpa frame and it wouldn't budge. LBS did it with great difficulty and found the screw which holds the cable guides was screwed hard against the bottom bracket shell preventing it from moving. I've fitted my XT hollow tech the one before the latest one and its fine.
