canti brakes question

my son bought me a set of cantilever brakes for the new sherpa /.
the brakes are( paul canti)look the buisness ,but the fixing ,for the cable ,(dont know the tech name,)dosent look great .
is there a different  fixing i can get.
its for front brake,from cable hanger to brakes

Do you mean the part where the link wire joins the main brake cable?
If so, this is commonly called a yoke and the joining cable the straddle, might help with googling for information.  These always look a bit crude, but as long as the bolt firmly clamps the cable there’s not much to go wrong.  Having had a couple of Paul Components, though not these brakes, I’d feel confident about their ability to work well. If you do want to change, there’s two options.  You could do away with this arrangement by using a Shimano style link wire, this runs the main cable through a sleeve to one brake and has a fixed length to the other brake.  They’re available in 5 fixed lengths and are not adjustable.

The other option is to get another yoke, there isn’t that great a choice, I’ve used some from Empella that are as good as I’ve seen.
