None at the moment for me, Anto, but your tale brought back some happy memories for me.

Decades ago, I was battling a fatal prognosis levied by my doctors and mourning my inability to ride my previous long distances. I finally decided I could ride a neighborhod square made of four city blocks.

Those remain some of the best rides in my memory!

It isn't the distance, but the quality of the ride that counts, doing it. If you can, get out on the bike no matter how far. Sure glad you did, that's how memories are made! :)

All the best, Dan.

True Dan any ride is a good ride.
Down through the years I had some epic rides and some not so epic lol but they all count.
I enjoy solo rides because my average is probably 12mph that doesn't suit everyone but certainly suits this old bird.

Still I love the idea or dream that next year I'll brave it and head off on a nice sunny mini tour.

A good question and topical for me.
I had been planning a visit to Shetland from Aberdeen but was frustrated by the ships being totally booked up for the summer months.
I found it hard to believe
After some investigation I found out that when booking a trip, the bike has to be entered as a vehicle - even though it's free.
This makes the booking a vehicle booking and yes - there are no spaces on the dates I required. either way! It's a popular destination.
A call to the booking office made this clear and i was told to make a passenger booking and then call the office and they would tag my ticket for the bike.

So now I am arranging hostel accommodation and will be on my way soon.
I've been 3 times before and find it a great place to tour.

A mini tour. A mini adventure. Perfect to blow the cobwebs away.

A longer tour is on the horizon after doctors test results; fingers and toes crossed.
As they say, any day on the bike sure beats a day in the office.
Never drink and drive. You may hit a bump  and spill your drink
