I visited Carradice central oh, maybe 5 years ago. It was hidden down a side street, surrounded by terraced houses. As the area was also well known for mills and fabrics a large number of Asian people settled there.
The actual building is fabulous and when entering the smell and noise of ‘factory’ hits you. Very evocative sights, smells and sounds of an era passing by.
The staff (mostly ladies) were welcoming and down to Earth; none of that pretentious nonsense much in evidence these days.
I bought my Super C’s that day and a few spare rack hooks.
I dare say the new owners have moved with the times and perhaps automated a lot of things.
I hope they’ve retained at least some of the things that make Carradice such an old school but stylish brand.
