India 2025
« on: December 29, 2024, 10:53:09 AM »
I am heading out to India in January 2025.  Last time there I rode a 1990s Giant MTB with but this year I am taking my MkI Sherpa.
After flying into Mumbai I will go by train South and inland to Hubblli where I will start my ride.  I will first be cycling about 100 miles East to Hampi where there is an ancient temple complex.   From there I will head NW and descend the Western Ghats to the coast, to ride North to Mumbai.
I have started a Journal on CycleBlaze called India 2025.

The RideGPS map attached gives an idea of my route but is in no way exactly where I will be riding.

Great stuff, Andy. Will follow your Cycleblaze journal.

I visited those parts on a backpacking trip with our daughter 20 years ago (!!)  We especially enjoyed Goa.

Enjoy your ride!

It was great to visit at age 65 as well!

Just under 1000 miles on a mixture of roads, a fantastic place to cycle at the right time of year.

That site is run by an owner who hasn't traveled by bike since about 2008, has descended (by his own admission) into a lonely highly-online life of conspiracy theories and political rants, and is notorious for banning well-liked contributors at the drop of a hat. There has been a flow of CGOAB users to Cycleblaze instead, and there is a very good reason for that.

No experience of CGOAB but I was very happy with my previous Journal on CycleBlaze so no reason to change.  The site is easy to use, no interference from those who own the site, and is a fantastic way of letting those at home know that all is OK.  Highly recommend it.
