Bike insurance for non UK resident
« on: August 30, 2023, 02:21:43 AM »
Does anyone know an insurance company that does insure bikes on a tour in the UK (for a 10 day trip, but I'm also OK paying for an annual policy and cancelling it after 2 weeks) owned by a non UK resident?

You could try Laka:

I'm not sure you'll find anything, insurance is usually based on your home address as that's the most common loss. You might do better looking for something local, that permitted worldwide travel.   Or can't it be added to your travel insurance?

I can only find locally the usual travel insurance (if anything happens to me or to the "regular" baggage). But that would leave my bike virtually uninsured for theft (maybe would cover $200) I even asked some companies that do have an advertisement for bike insurance and they stopped insuring bikes (which makes me even more worried, the only reason I can think of is that they lost money on it so they probably had too many theft cases?)

I tried LAKA yesterday, but even that wants me to be UK resident.
