We are having a family gathering around the Scotland vs Ireland rugby match in Paris next October. My wife and I are considering taking the car and extending the trip to include her first bike tour. So I am looking fora suitable route Komoot (my paid for app) has not come up with anything yet so I thought I would ask on here.
Our criteria are:
Needs to be a loop or an interesting out and back.
Start point should be no more than one day of driving from Bruges (ferryport) and Beauvais near Paris (match).
Route should not be exceptionally hilly.
Rural and towpaths type terrain well received.
Interesting scenery, history, culture,
Accessible accommodation (not camping)
5 days riding at, say, 60km per day. So up to 300km.
Somewhere really interesting for a rest day mid week.
My wife has expressed an interest in Germany as she has never been there.
I am thinking we are overlooking Holland and Brussels and Luxembourg so maybe we don't have to drive so far.
Anyone got any ideas?
