My first Thorn - a fuschia pink cyclosportif
« on: November 09, 2017, 12:39:10 PM »
I got this for a great price and thought i’d share some build pictures
Built by Kevin Sayles I think?

Plan is for a campagnolo 11 speed build, pdw mudguards and matte black audax mark 3 forks

Never had a Thorn so looking forward to building and riding this!
Cheers

thanks - the colour is a matte pink (which will be very visible especially in the fog) and is somewhat of an acquired taste...

I've got all the parts / wheels etc already so will by trying a few combos to get it how I want it.

Please put some pictures up when she is done,I've got a gunmetal audax and I echo jags view of it being a super ride.

Lovely color...the exact-same as I plan to paint my next Fixie, paired with electric-blue handlebar tape and brake cable housings.

Looking forward to seeing yours fully assembled.

Best,

Dan.

Audax forks arrived - these will be cut down soon as they’re a death trap!

You'll have to do something about that orange-y curtain, grumpyjj, as it simply doesn't work as background for that stylish fuchsia bike ;)

Looking good!
Out of interest, why did you decide to go with the gold King headset, rather than the included brand new Hope Anodized Blue headset?

Thanks! I’ve had the king for ages and think they’re great headsets. I personally prefer the gold but blue looked good too. I’ll use the Hope on my daughter’s new bike in the new year.
What sort of racks would Thornistas recommend? Something reasonably light as not going to be doing any end to ends or rtw rides in the foreseeable.
Cheers

That must be a super-safe color in low visibility for motorists and trucks.
