Roofbox.co.uk reckon that Atera's STRADA DL tilting carriers are the best designed and best engineered tow ball carriers on the market, bar none.
My experience with this carrier echoes this sentiment. I've been delighted with it and am only selling because I no longer need to carry any more than two bikes.
Aside from carrying four bikes with ease, the best feature of this carrier is being able to open the tailgate without removing the bikes. The carrier just slides forward with no hassle whatsoever, giving full access to the boot.
I'm selling 4 bike version, though I removed the fourth bike carrier add-on a year or so ago when I no longer needed it. I still have all the bits and it is easy to refit back on. You can see what four bikes looks like on the carrier in this photo:
