This topic seems as good a place as any to post one of my favorite online weather links, originally recommended by a friend from Aachen, Germany:
www.lightningmaps.org/realtime?lang=de

The link that Dan provided above will give you the page in German, because of the "lang=de" in the URL.  "de" is the standard 2-letter abbreviation for German. If you want English, remove the "lang=de". If you want another language, you can add "lang=XX", where XX is the 2-letter abbreviation for the language (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_639-1 for a list of the abbreviations). Note that the website may not support all languages, and will probably fallback to English if you ask for an unsupported language.

Here is the plain URL, without a language specified:
www.lightningmaps.org/realtime

On that website, you can change the language by clicking on the language icon at the extreme bottom left of the page.

P.S. To answer Anto's original question: the weather here (Vancouver) is rain and +6C. Typical Vancouver winter weather.

If you want English...
Or,if using a PC/Mac, click on the teeny-tiny little flag in the lower-left corner to directly view in any of 13 languages. ;)

Took me awhile to find it in the beginning because I usually use it on my phone while traveling, and then I forgot to mention it here! Apologies.  :-[

Check out the cool options like lightning densities and the related apps. I have no connection to any of this, but have sure found it handy while touring.

All the best,

Dan.

Here in the warmer   ???  South of England, we had a whole day of freezing fog yesterday. Trees and hedgerows looked stunning coated in heavy frost. Not so pretty when trying to cycle home from work at 7.30pm though and a slight thaw at 2pm had dampened all surfaces and then frozen again to become sheet ice.

It was a long 2 mile walk home   :(

I use the BBC app routinely but recently installed
AccuWeather.
The hourly predictions are spookily accurate more often than not.

We had a nice frosty day out on the forestry tracks above the Ettrick valley yesterday.
Forecast is for it to get milder, wetter, and windier for next few days.
Give me the frost anyday.

A quick  overnight  trip to  Aviemore,  weather  -8 . Don't  wear a helmet  all the time, my choice  less likely to take chances.
