« on: December 29, 2015, 04:08:31 PM »
So yeah im on the hunt for a touring frame steel size 50cm im 5ft5ins
i used to be 6 ft before the accident  ;)

anyway have any of you lads a frame gathering dust that will see me right for a few tours.
i was looking at the Thorn mercury on a review  cycling weekly gets ten out of ten. what a dream machine  pure class ,but the chances of me ever owing a thorn again is slim to none  so im gonna try and get a touring frame and use up the spares i have in the shed .

now before anyone says ah Anto on the mouch again  :'(
i suppose i am but im a giver in life not a taker, i gave away more gear down through the years than i care to remember actually theres quiet a few lads on this forum that does the same   gentlemen one and all.
so if theres a frame going at a good price please let me know,
i'll remember you in my will ;)

thanks folks

anto.

It will be slower and heavier than what you are riding now. Will that be okay?

Do you have some camping-tours in mind for when the weather improves? (It will, it *must* get better someday! I say this myself every.single.day).

All the best,

Dan.

Hi Dan ,yeah i know its going to be heavier but its a touring bike so that won't bother me one bit. the bike i have now would be useless for touring its a road bike full stop. besides if i get a tourer i wont have to change my heavy tent the new bike will handle the load.

i want to finish my irish tour this time solo not going to take another chance on touring with a looney bin.i have all the gear for touring  except a bike, good start  said you  ;D ;D.

Rohloff and Mercury i'de give my left toenail to own such a bike ,i like winding you lads up on rohloff  dont always win but it does get you rohloff owners  going ,sure if you haven't the craic what have you.
i spotted a class touring bike at a great price on bikeforums MASI really nice, 1000 dollors for a super bike.
anyway i'll keep hunting if i can  get a frame for  100 euro i'll be a happy camper, doesn't sound a lot of money but it is to me .

dunno if your still looking for a tourer Jags, if you are this might be worth a look, plenty of drive train options and a 49cm frame looks clean with nice tall steerer, and they get pretty good reviews http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Kona-Sutra-Touring-Frame-and-Forks-49-cm-Dedaccia-Steel-/272099700425?hash=item3f5a67eec9:g:AlwAAOSwFqJWh7En
