I'd be surprised if a click sound is a dead BB. They tend to go gravelly and crunch. Usual advice is to approach these things sequentially beginning with the easy things like chain ring bolts, check the chain, eccentric and pedals. Then if no joy I'd take the cranks off off and clean up the ends of the square taper BB. You might also remove the BB at this point and check all is running freely and is clean. I throw lots of grease at the job, others say you shouldn't grease the BB splines, I think it is a moot point.
