Now this looks interesting, with some provenance too. Tad too small for me so...

I'm sure the good burgher of christchurch will like it  :)

Not my cup of tea actually!
I am not able anymore to get much from riding and so I have reduced to virtually nothing my number of bikes.
My Heart is no longer working properly and it is not going to improve. My Doctor told me yesterday that I should keep riding but no hills unless they go down!
I have a Brompton and short rides (8-25 miles) are good. I have a Condor and a Thorn which most likely will remain little used! I sold all my bikes once previously and could not bear to be without them and so these will stay whatever.
Thanks for the thought about the Ebay listed Thorn Audax though..... ;D

John - have you given any thought to electric bikes? I know they look awful but some time ago I tried one and found it a hoot to ride. Hills do feel flatter too. If I had health problems, I'd get one right away.

Hello,
I firstly thought ignore this, but I guess for some people it is a help?
For me, I would rather not. I would stop completely if I had to resort to one of those things!
I think a small motorcycle would be suitable as these electric things are neither one thing nor the other.
Not for me in any form.
Thank you for the suggestion which I know was well meaning.
Regards,
John

I like this bike, but don't know if it would fit me. Have been meaning to get  pro bike fit but just haven't got round to it. At 5.11 with a 29 inch inseam, I guess I'm kind of odd sized. Anyone who could offer informal advice on whether I could get comfortable on this 55cm frame, I'd be grateful. The seller has the same inseam as me, but is 5.8 in height.

Thanks
Joe

Hi Joe,

You could try an online bike fit, the one from competive cyclist is quite good to see if the top tube length + height agree with you.

It may be a touch short + low for you, of course short you be compensated for, low too with high rise stem.

Pedal to the metal! Wind, rain, hills, braking power permitting ;)

I'm 5ft 10 with a 30" inseam and I ride 54-56cm bikes, I guess it's within the range that you could make it fit by changing the stem if needed.

Ah, the joys of eBay. In this case, someone got a very nice bicycle for a very good price.

Best,

Dan. (...who sees auctions as part utility, part spectator sport and follows ones like this to see how they turn out)

Many thanks for the advice. I decided in the end not to take the chance.
