Our daughter has these on her Stevens euro-trekking bike which I bought for her as a birthday present this past summer. She found both bike and tires just fine on her first cycle tour, a week-plus we did together in Denmark this past August. Hardly demanding terrain, to be sure, but everything worked without a hitch. One of her flatmates who's a bike mechanic in Berlin recommended the Stevens and set it up for her. The Spicer seems to be the standard city tire, as you suggest. I'm not sure what range of sizes are offered -- the Schwalbe North America site doesn't show the Spicer, but it seems to be common if not standard equipment on a lot of German bikes.
