My new Audax 853
« on: December 17, 2014, 01:22:03 PM »
Just a quick post to announce that I am the very proud owner of Jag's Audax 853.  :)

I popped over on the ferry to pick it up yesterday. Huge thank you to Anto and his wife for the wonderful hospitality. I could have listened to him for hours talking about bikes and cycling in general, he really knows his stuff. It was nice to actually meet somebody that you've known via the forum for a long time.

Thanks again Anto (Jag's), you are a class fella for sure.

Regards,
Neil

All congratulations, Neil; what a thrill and so happy for you.

Received your very nice email in reply to the photo I sent. If you need help posting it, I have written a little tutorial on uploading and linking photo attachments here: http://www.thorncycles.co.uk/forums/index.php?topic=4313.0  If you have trouble, let me know. You might wish to wait till it is personalized to your needs or post now. Either way, a very nice and happy day for you.

Best wishes for many happy journeys with your lovely new Audax!

Dan.

Fingers crossed eh!
Went for quick spin yesterday, although I had to wear my trainers and use the flat sides of the pedals as I have Time cleats on my cycling shoes (debating whether to go over to Shimano). It goes like a dream, lively but well balanced, still getting used the the bar end shifters. Not really fine tuned the fit yet as back to work today. The RST seemed very heavy on my commute in comparison although I carry a fair bit in my rack bag and is shod in Marathon Plus at the moment. The Audax is a different animal and will make my leisure time rides great fun but the Rohloff has it's place too. I'm very fortunate that I have the best of both worlds now   ;D

Neil
