Dan - has any one else had problems with PMs going missing lately?

PMs are privileged communications, so I cannot see them. I haven't received any reports of others having problems, and I've been monitoring the issue closely since I read of problems between you and Alfie. You are on your own domain, while Alfie is on a popular commercial one, so I don't think it is an issue affecting any one domain.
In doing my daily and weekly Forum maintenance, I don't see any file errors or corrupted table structures or other issues that would have a selective rather than universal effect.
It is possible one or the other of you may have your personal message options set "differently". To view your settings, go to your profile (blue bar at top of screen below your avatar picture) and once there, select Personal Message Options from the "Modify Profile" menu on the left. To avoid missing messages, be sure to place a check mark in the boxes for "Save a copy of each Personal Message in my outbox by default" and "Show a popup when you receive new messages?" and be sure to select the option for "Show a popup when you receive new messages?" to "Always".
