ex box for rohloff
« on: October 18, 2014, 02:11:19 PM »
Hi ,
I'm hoping to convert a rohloff from internal to an  external gearbox. To anyone who has done this, did they encounter any problems?. I'm also looking for the  parts to complete the conversion so  if anyone has parts for sale which would help me, please get in touch.

Regards Alfie

I've done this earlier this year, read the instructions carefully and viewed the video, I just did the job very methodically step by step, and used a low range torque wrench when needed ... The bit I found most challenging was getting the cables fitted correctly, and one to watch is getting the grub screw fully in place, apparently if its not in correctly you don't get all your gears!

All in all I found it straight forward,

Mark

Thanks Mark, now all I need is to source the parts required.

I have a used tranfer plate for £30 inc uk postage like this http://www.sjscycles.co.uk/rohloff-ex-transfer-box-8216-prod11744/ can include axle plate screws and a blanking screw for the unused hole.

Then all you need to find is cables and the EX box itself.

Feel free to call 01278 441542,

Dave
