Honesty from the start! not a tour, a holiday with the family - and the bike.
What a challenge for this rider, the heat, the altitude, you never carry enough water; but not for the RST, no problems at all.  With the Tourmalet in my legs i climbed a few others including Luz Ardiden.  This was my favourite, long fairly straight climb then lots of switchbacks still climbing and on the way down good forward visibility and incredible speeds, RST rock steady throughout.  We moved from the Pyrennes to the Ardeche, Cevennes region. Its spectacular geology of limestone and granite meant plenty of false flats as your eyes followed the fault lines, which seldom run flat! Its also deserted, anyone any links to or tales of tours in this area, its one we wish to return to.

I came throught the Pyrennees earlier this year and the Tourmalet was still snow bound and closed

did you go through the gorge du tarn and the Corniche de Cevennes?
That part of my trip was amazing, going under the Millau viaduct etc.

But I did make it up Ventoux and Alpe D'Huez

for the Ventoux ( with BOB trailer too)
