Amazing tourer

The above link details the incredible story of Heinz Stucke the Guiness Book of Records holder.

I thought Heinz's choice of bike may be interesting to other forum users in view of Thorn's stance on 26" wheels and hub gearing for touring purposes on their current range. Weight of bike not disimilar to Thorn Nomad etc either.

Bike choice aside it is well worth a read, if only to see what might happen to you too if you got over obsessed with cycle touring and seeing the world!

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm....26" wheels and a hub gear! Just really shows what wimps we  all are with our fancy tubed frames and numerous gear systems. Just get out and ride the World?

I see that Heinz finally made it to the UK and had his bike nicked on his first day here!!!!

Typical.

Luckily he got it back this time.

A few weeks back one of my mates was lucky enough to have met him whilst we was riding across South Wales en route to catch a ferry over to Ireland.

It's quite a story and reinforces what we all know in our hearts... it's not about the bike!
