Thorn Raven Sport service
« on: July 17, 2006, 08:59:58 PM »
Ive clocked up over 3000 miles on my Raven Sport Tour since I got it in January. I do about 50 miles a day couriering in London. I heard that the gear oils needs to be changed at that amount of mileage or 12 months. Is that correct? How do I know it needs it? Are there tell tale signs like noisy gears etc? Is it a straight forward job like changing oil on a car, or is reassembly required? I am not good with such matters if thats the case. Does anyone know any bike shops in London that could do it?

It is really easy to change the oil with the "Rohloff full oil change kit" seethis link
After the first oil change it is going to be cheaper to by the 1 litre container of oil and oil flush.

Hi Dylan

I enquired at Condor (Grays Inn Road, London) with the same concern in mind ref a suitable service shop and they claim are one of Rohloff's licensed service outlets as they supply bikes with Rohloff units (Bickertons I think).  Think Rohloff state a year or 5000k whichever comes first which is close enough to 3000 miles I guess.  Hope this helps.
