Beyond the Call of Duty

Danneaux

Was just wondering whether Thorn paid you from their doubtlessly tidy profits to facilitate this Forum?

You don't have to answer, but it seems to me given the obvious sales role you fulfill with your encyclopedic knowledge doubtlessly contributing to many fully informed purchase decisions, that you are clearly a major asset to them.

Not to mention your boundless enthusiasm for the product and obvious commitment to your role which I'm certain also has decisive a contagion factor when prospective customers are weighing up their options.   Seeing how the forum has really taken off under your stewardship, with so many other enthused contributors, the forum is my default first stop for cycling knowledge of any kind - I never need to go anywhere else in fact!

I'm sure others would agree that you provide a professional service of the very highest calibre, far more worthy than volunteer status should that be the case.

Fred

I would like to second Fred's endorsment of Dan's "stewardship" of the forum. I think he has taken having a Thorn bike from the realms of ownership into something that feels much more like membership.

Having periodicaly perused other forums on bikes and other subjects, this is the only forum that I have found that ALL the members are more interested in helping than grandstanding.

I think that the forum is a reflection of the people that own them and I don't think you could find any better an endorsment of the bikes than right here.

I think if Thorn were paying Dan by the word though even they may have to file for bankrupcy lol

Regards

Andy

We don't want him as an agent of the states. What would the rest of the world do?

how do you go about running a pole Fred  ;)

what would the job diecription be as  Dan is a total expert in all things bike and a hell of a lot mor besides. .
Fred just thinking Robin Thorn seldom looks in here unless someone calls his attention to something important happening on the forum.
so if anyone has his contact email address maybe it would be a good idea to let him know about this thread ;)

come on lads lets get Dan some dosh for all the super work he does you know it makes sense. ;)

I do wonder if Thorn would ever get anyone else quite so committed.

Possibly the gentle nudge technique through endorsements and keeping this thread close to the top of the pile might work best - I am of course assuming that Dan is merely a superhero volunteer!  ;D

Now if only we got spammed with bike offers...it may work!

(who needs Viagra on a bike, really?)

Second the Dan support thread :D
Pedal to the metal! Wind, rain, hills, braking power permitting ;)

Man! Thanks, everyone for the Spam Notice. The spammers are getting smarter...they knew I was asleep. I was at the eye doc's this morning and didn't check the Forum on awakening as usual. I've got 'em banned, am reporting them to the Stop Forum Spam blacklist, and am working to trace their IP. Lots goes on behind the scenes whenever there's a threat to the Shire. The orcs are afoot!

The rest of the posts should be rooted out in the next few minutes.

Thanks again, everyone, and I encourage you to *always* contact me when you see a problem. Anything caught early is better than letting it go till late.

All the best,

Dan. (...who is very grateful for all of you)
