When using normal alloy rims I found Koolstop salmon brake pads the best in the wet.
Worth a try…

I think the levers don't help either atm, you need to apply quite a bit of force and I got small hands so it's a bit awkward, let me try them pads see what happens.

The lack of braking power stops me going full force atm, with commuting/touring you always have side roads, cars, suicidal pedestrians etc...

Koolstop Salmon now fitted and new cables (tx to the boyfriend) huge difference I can brake properly now

Now it just needs rear freehub replaced. Then get a new narrower stem (hm dark blue tape of black...what shall we do...) and new shifter hoods, along with spd one side/flat other side pedals.

And of course racks and panniers. AAAH why is all that stuff so expensive!

black fizik bar tape with a nice gel under it make for a comfy tough  tape best tape i've ever used. dont get blue ..good choice of break blocks.
ah it will all be worth it in the end honest.
did you check out the adverts section on boards.ie for second hand gear might be tubus racks on there who knows.

Along with Carradice Overlander full set of kit, not as good as Super C I believe, but not bad either.
