What Freehub body
« on: November 14, 2007, 02:47:23 PM »
I hope someone can help me.  I currently have a Shimano Uniglide Freehub body on my Shimano 105 (1050) rear hub but would like to upgrade it to a Hyperglide.  I have been looking around on the internet but am confused as to which Freehub body would be compatible with both my hub and new HG70 cassette.  Any pointers in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

Will your freehub only take uniglide cassettes or does it also have threads on the inside for a hyperglide style lockring?
There were some freehubs that could take both types. As I understand it the only difference is that a true hyperglide freehub can take cassettes with 11 tooth smallest cog but the older types are limited to 12 tooth minimum.
