The road salt is long gone and I've finally been able to get out an use this. Just over 1000 miles of the quietest Suffolk backroads, lanes, tracks and bridleways.   Perfect for my needs. Well done Thorn designers and the workshop team who put it together.

Hope that rides as nice as it looks.  At a glance it doesn't look that dissimilar to my Mercury, I'm curious to ride a Nomad to feel how different they are, though just curious, not looking for another bike....

For me it’s kind of like a mercury but for a heavier rider. It has 700c wheels and marathon supreme 40c tyres which are comfy

After all the years of shoving 26" wheels.............
I bet it rides great too.
Beautiful place to park it for that photograph. A proper camera too I bet. I simply use my mobile phone these days as cant be bothered carrying a camera, which is a shame really.

Thanks for the comments. I’m very pleased with the ride and comfort. I’m not bothered about speed and just use it to go exploring at my own pace. But the pic is from a mobile phone. I’ve just upgraded. My last phone lasted me 6 years and would have kept going If I hadn’t dropped it without the case on. You can see how camera tech has developed in that time.

That looks great.  Is this the 58L size and if so, do you mind me asking your height?

I’m considering getting one of these fine bikes and think I’m between sizes.

Hi. Yes it is a 58L. I’m 5’11”

In 2014 I had a trip to Somerset to get measured and got nomad mk2 590L. Perhaps give Thorn a call and speak to them about your measurements.

You went belt drive? How do you like it ?

Not sure if you are still around as this is a very late reply. I’ve not been on the forum for a long time. Now put in over 4000 miles on the hub and belt and think it is great. Not had to adjust it at all. Just the occasional wash with water perhaps 2 or 3 times a year. If you want to see more pics see if you can follow me on Instagram. Can you tell us the reason why you decided to replace your ex MK2 for a new MK3 ?

So which one do you prefer today ?

Both were very comfortable but I do prefer the mk3. It has allowed me to spec 700c wheels, hydraulic disc brakes and gates belt. Total comfort, smooth rolling, powerful and easy stopping (unlike Swiss stop blue on CSS while fully loaded downhill in the rain !!!

Now that you've had your bike a while, has your opinion changed in any way or have you upgraded the bike further?  I'd love to see more photos.

No major changes and still love the bike. The only maintenance was to swap the front disc brake pads.
